im planning to build a system with my thunderbird 800. i would like to use a kt133a mobo setup, in particular the epox 8kta3. i was just wondering if any one knew if i could run the cpu at default settings (8.0*100Mhz) on the epox mobo. or if i have to run my cpu at 133 FSB. im not sure how well it overclocks so i would like to still keep the mobo in case my cpu cant run at 133 FSB. ive read some problems that ppl have been having about getting their thunderbirds to post at 133 FSB even with a reduced multiplier. any response would be appreciated.

I believe that you can run your chip at the defauls FSB speed of 100MHz. But the KT133A was designed so that Thunderbird/Duron owners could run their chip at higher FSB speeds.

Sure you can run it at 8x100. You could also unlock it and run it at 6x133 (800), then your cpu wont even be overclocked, but your system will run faster because of the increased FSB speed.
