Overclocking question

Hello everyone
I just had a question for more xperinced overclockers. I oc'd my gf4ti 4400 to 315/630 and got sparklies and fireworks. I just wanted to know what causes these artifacts. Is it lack of proper cooling or the fact that core and memeory have reached their max?
Thnx

Sounds like memory and/or core data coruption. When you overclock too much, the artifacts are errors in the data being sent to and from the GPU and memory. These errors result in rendering errors that show up as the artifacts you saw. Back it down until they go away..

Correct...

Just lower your clock speeds, and they should disappear.
