Overclocking question

here is my new spec

P4 2.4C

abit ic7 ( first time using abit )

2 kingston 512mb PC3500 (Model KHX3500/512R)

swiftech fan

i want to overclock to max. What is the best setup for this board ???

When you overclock, you are pushing components to their limits. You could have two identical setups and and one will overclock well and the other not at all. It is all a matter of luck.

Generally, you will see more gains by upping the fsb than playing with memory timings. I would try memtest or sandra after each configuration and see which gets you the better scores. Start with the memory either set to SPD or the specs the manufacturer gives you. Then keep pushing the fsb till the system becomes unstable. Once you reach that point, back off the fsb a bit till you have a stable machine.

You can try to tighten memory timings too but as I said, the biggest gains are not to be had there.
