Ok let me explain this situation. There is nothing wrong with the DVD drive itself, I will explain later. I am having trouble trying to print a lightscribe label with this drive and every program I have tried gives me an error.
So I took the drive out and installed it in another machine running Windows XP. I was able to burn a lightscribe label with no problems. So there is nothing wrong with the drive. I install it into my machine in my sig running Windows 7 and I used the same software as I did on the XP machine and it does not work. As soon as it starts it gives me an error.
I know the programs I used work with Windows 7 because I have been able to create a lightscribe label in the past.
I created a thread about this and someone suggested turn the settings back to stock. I too thought that an overclock could not cause problems with a dvd drive but what do I know.
I am completely stable at 4.2 and the dvd drive is not causing any stability problems. I am just trying to figure out why I can't burn a lightscribe label. I want to rule the overclock out.
If going back to stock settings does not work, then I am going to reinstall Windows, was planning on doing it anyways. To reinstall Windows, I need to go back to stock settings anyways so I thought I try it first before I reinstalled Windows.
