Overclocking query

I'm new to overclokng and wanna try out on an old celeron.
its a 300Mhz Celeron(Not 300A) with Intel MU440EX motherboard.

please Give me oc basics and mu440ex specific oc specifications

thanks

If you can get an overclockable mobo, I think you will find that the Celeron 300 is a great overclocker. I think it can go higher than the 300A (way slower though) because the 300 has no L2 cache whatsoever (450 mhz should be a breeze, 550 should be do-able).

If its an actual Intel mobo (not just Intel chips) then LarryJoe is probably right. It's the same with Dell: they don't want you overclocking their stuff because then if they die under warranty you get a free replacement. Still, it looks like all those claims about "overclocking will kill your computer", "overclocking is amoral", etc are a crock and totally untrue.
