Hi

I am trying to overclock my q9550.

System spec is as follow:
Asus p5q pro
q9550 2.83ghz
Noctua NH12P SE2 heat sink
8 gb (2x4) pc800 DDR2 ram

At the moment I am sitting at 1.4 vcore, 410 fsb, 1.5 Vnb system is stable for 1 hour and few min before core 1 failed. IT was stable for 10 hours at 1.325 vcore, 400 FSB, 1.5 vnb

I tried putting 1.2 1.32 1.37 on VTT and no matter what value I put, the system won't post. So I had to reset the CMOS (pulled out the batt)

What is the cause of this? What have I done wrong?
I am suspecting my RAM as it's only regular pc800 ram. Should I get 1066 ram? I tried overclocking my ram (thought it would be more stable for higher fsb) by setting the voltage DRAM to 1.96 and increasing the frequency to 925 mhz the system went blue screen in 10 min. I was gonna add more dram volt but I was afraid I will fry my ram. (default at 1.8 v)

Please note that I am running windows 7 x64
Thanks in advance
