Overclocking Prescott 3.0

Hi, i've got a Intel Desktop Board D865GLC with a Prescott 3.0

I've looked everywhere in the BIOS but i can't find an option to change the FSB anywhere? Can somebody tell me what i can do to be able to do this? My only theory is that because it's actually an Intel board, they don't let you overclock like you can with asus/abit etc.

Any help would be great guys

Isaac

how did you find out you've got a prescott 3.0? I recently bought a 3.0 cpu but I am not sure if it is northwood or prescott. (the box hasn't been opened yet.)

Well, a Presott would have 1MB cache. Don't know if that is on the box, though.

Intel boards usually do not allow overclocking.

Northwood's have 512kb Cache, Prescott's have 1Mb Cache. You can use a program Such as CpuZ (google it) to see which one you have, and alot of other information about your system. I assume on the packaging it would tell you this as well.

Can anybody help me Please Please Please 🙂

Intel won't let you overclock on any of there boards now. If your board is made by someone else you can, but not on an Intel made board.
