Hi guys,

I recently got exposed to the world of overclocking and felt immediate urge to do some.

I read articles and other forum posts,so i do have some idea about what overclocking is.But i need some help in confirming that i can overclock my processor and the subsequent overclocking process.

First of all my system specs:
Processor-AMD Phenom II X2 545 3.00 Ghz
RAM-3 gb
Mobo-M4A78-EM/1394
OS-Win 7

Now what do i need to check that i am in a good position to overclock?I mean how do i check that i have the correct components required for the overclock?

If you are looking for a great heatsink, go for the CM Hyper 212 EVO, it's super cheap, and it keeps your CPU ice cold.

You can play around with options settings in the BIOS of the motherboard, but maybe you could get an introduction by using some software in windows to play around.

Not sure how attached you are to the CPU, but I would advise treating it like you are trying to challenge it, don't baby it, knock it around and push it beyond the limits.
