Hi

I'm new to overclocking and just recently bought myself a msi 865pe fisr mobo and 2.8c cpu. I'm able to oc the cpu easily to 3.2ghz on stock cooler by increasing the fsb to 231mhz . The system runs rock solid and no crashes but I'm not sure about the cpu and system temps. On idle they are:

cpu - 44c
sys - 46c
nb - 28c

but during heavy use the cpu temp can rise to 60c and the sys to about 55. Is this normal or too hot? I don't know please help.

thanks

I had similar board, just neo2ls, for few days before I returned it. You temperatures are abnormal, particularly the system one.

Ive got a Lian Li aluminium case with 3 case fans and a antec 380watt psu. My room temp is high at the mo, its around 30c, damn baking hot summer days!

system
Antec 380w psu
crucial ddr400 256 dual channel
p4 2.8c @ 3.2ghz stock cooler
Seagate SATA 120g HD
Voodoo3 2000 pci vga (soon to be replaced with radeon 9800 pro)
On board sound

What should my case temp be on average? providing the corecentre readings are accurate!
