Overclocking P4 1.6A, mobo limit?

Hi,

having my Gigabyte 8IGX (845G chipset) with a 1.6A running at 2.14GHz (bought in September last year), with Samsung DDR333 memory at 354MHz (tested with Memtest86). Tried to overclock further, but I can't go over 150 MHz on the FSB. The strange thing - this goes OK with default voltage. If I raise the voltage I get no additional MHz. So I think the following could be problematic (since I'm using onboard audio, USB...):

1. There is no AGP/PCI lock on the motherboard; so PCI works at 37,5 MHz, and AGP at 75 MHz - I see no problem for the AGP - the GeForce 3 Ti200 I own worked fine at AGP speeds of 89 MHz...
2. Tried to lower the AGP/PCI multiplier to get them work at 30/60 MHz, just to see if this could help - no, it didn't
3. When OC'ing, memory is set to most relaxed timings, so this shouldn't be an issue
4. PSU, although generic, should be OK (400W), with a UPS sitting in front of it... Checked power rails and those have been fine...
5. Turning off onboard devices didn't help, too

For me it looks like I hit the boards limit, rather than the procs limit. What do you think, suggest?

I probably will try to buy an "Abit BH7" when they come out, but this will take a month or two (to arrive in stores in Croatia) and sell the 8IGX.

I thought that board had PCI/AGP lock, but I'm not sure. Its not in the menu anywhere? Did you try 1:1 ratio first? 150 FSB 3:4 = DDR400. That is about it for that Samsung ram.

Unfortunately, it doesn't have the lock; although many dividers (up to 355 MHz FSB...). As I mentioned I went with lower RAM timings and 1:1. At 150 it should be CL2.5 and 300MHz DDR... I would be happy if it would work with FSB 166/167 and DDR 333 CL2 settings. At the moment the RAM is at DDR356 speed, 2-6-3-2, 2.6V; the stable spot I got.
