Overclocking on the ECS K7S5a

I got this motherboard with a 950 duron. When i go into the bios all the multiplier settings and bus settings are not able to be changed in the CPU Pnp setup section. What can i do to make the bus speed faster? and can I change the voltage multiplier?

Most of the more recent official bios versions don't allow any FSB adjustment.

there are 2-3 OC bios that can be had from diff places.

CHFSB is a little program that will let you change the FSB ,works like a charm. info here

You can also check out the excellent FAQ for this board on this site. Look for the Overclocking section, but please remember that this board was not meant as an overclocking board; it is a budget/performance board from a company that is very big in the OEM market, not retail until fairly recent releases.

What was the highest/lowest speed people were able to achive? For older games I'm also interested in underclocking - I was able to reach so far 147 MHz FSB highest and 90 MHz lowest ...

I got 150/150 (1.2GH) highest, of course I need to pencil my Duron 800 to increase the voltage setting to 1.85v. But so far the most stable one is 133/133 (1064MHZ) setting, I decide to stay in 124/124 (993MHZ) setting though, cause I'm afraid the temperature will kill my CPU, I feel more secured with 45 celcius CPU instead of having faster clock but 57 celcius CPU.

I tried to set my FSB to 133/133 but no post.
Do i Need to pencil in the L1 and l2 Bridges?
Or do i need to pick a lower FSB...
Main question in order to change the FSB to anything beside default is it necessary to unlock my duron L1 and l2 bridges.

When I go to CPU PnP setup the only option I can change is the FSB. I do change it from 100/100 to 133/133 and get my Duron 600 to go at 800, but before with my A7V I didn't even do that and just changed the jumpers for the multiplier from default to 9.5x (I unlocked the L1 bridges). Is there a way to force the multiplier on this board?

You might want to look for the unofficial BIOS releases on the OC Workbench ECS Forum. They used to have them there but I'm not sure if the multiplier variables were included. They might have had only FSB options I think. You'll have to check. That's the only way I know of that you could try, if they even have it. Otherwise you are stuck with just OC'ing with the FSB. But heck, for the price, you've been able to take your Duron up by 200 MHz; that's not too bad for a budget MB, is it?
