Overclocking Nvidia Cards with Vista 64 Sp1

I have been scouring the internet for hours trying to figure out a way to OC my 9800GTX.

I have two problems.

One is getting Riva Tuner or ATI Tools to install. I tried NTune but it dose not recognize my 8200 chipset. Maybe it is because I have Hybrid Power enabled. It also has no idea that I have a 9800GTX as well.

Riva Tuner and ATI tools both are aware of the 9800GTX but have unsigned drivers which I cannot get installed.

So.....has anyone else had any luck with Vista 64 and/or Hybrid Power?

Doesn't rivatuner prompt you to disable driver signing enforcement on install?

Otherwise I think you can disable it with EasyBCD. (use google.)

Yep Vista 64 with unsigned drivers is annoying, although I've never had issues with it as I just run as admin and choose to install anyways. Another workaround is to install EVGA precision which is basically RivaTuner Lite and has signed drivers.

At Guru3D if you don't own EVGA cards

new rivatuner has signed drivers. I think you didn't search hard enough. The one here www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/

even has a little app to use after the initial install that basically force feeds drivers to vista.

FWIW: I use Rivatuner on Vista X64 with a GTX280 and even did so with my 4870. Worked fine.

The BCD options to remove driver signing requirements were removed from Vista 64 when it went RTM. You have to disable it on a per-session basis.

However, RT has had signed drivers for a while now, so you shouldn't have any issues.

I can't get my roommates 4670 to overclock at all, even with driver signature enforcement enabled.

Really? I wonder what the problem is then....

Thanks, I'll give it another go!

Evga precision tool works just fine in Vista 64, so does Gainwards Expert tool.

I've been using EVGA Precision since getting a GTX 280. Very easy to use and the latest one supports fan control with the 180.xx drivers.

Where are you downloading rivatuner from? Because some downloads dont come with the drivers.

Get it from guru3d
