Alright I have successfully overclocked my p2 350 to a 434mhz without using any special fans, cooling, etc...I only have the standard fan on there. I used 124/41x3.5 but after 15 minutes, my motherboard speakers started beeping and my system locked up. However, I changed it to 12431x3.5. I then went into SAFE MODE, and disabled PS2Rate (so my Logitech Mouse goes back to 80hz default) and now everything is stable.

My questions are:

Was PS2Rate causing me to crash with 41mhz PCI Bus Speed? I had ps2rate plus set to 200hz. :p I am dying to use ps2rate because of how smooth it makes my cursor when it moves.

I know the risks of voiding the warrenty, screwing up my cpu, etc...but running at 434mhz on a p2 350, will it cause permanent damage? I play many games (making the cpu work harder than usual) and I have my 'puter running half of the day, almost everyday.

Here are my system specs:
Pentium 2 350 (at 434mhz) w/ standard boxed fan
Spacewalker Hot-661p Intel440BX motherboard
128mb PC100 Ram (dunno if its CAS-3 or 2, how do you check? :()
Creative Labs GeForce2 GTS 32mb AGP (non-overclocked)
Logitech FirstMouse+ running on 80hz :(
3.2 Quantum Fireball 5400rpm Harddrive
8.4 Maxtor Diamondmax 5400rpm Harddrive

Replies would be most appriciated, thanks in advance!

Seriously, i'd back off from the 41Mhz bus speed unless i'm prepared for a HD failure.

My p2 350 hit 466 (133fsb)

quite a seti monster at that speed.

I used regular pc100 cas3 ram (plain luck it ran 133 @ cas2)

My PCI was the standard 33mhz (due to the 1.4 PCI divider the BX6 has)

So far, my p2 350 @ 434 is running VERY stable. It's been almost 3 hours and no crash, or anything whatsoever. 2 of those hours I spent playing games..hehe :)

I don't know if I can try 133FSB because my mobo only supports cpus up to 450mhz...doing a 133FSB/33PCI will put me over the 450mhz limit. Can I do that? I doubt mine will be stable anyways because I am only using the standard fan, no special cooling fans or orbs or anything. :p

Also, if I set it back to 100/33 and set my mulitplier to 5.0, do you think I can reach 500mhz? (considering I am not hit by the 450mhz mobo limit...?) Again, I seriously doubt it cuz I have only the standard fan...but hey it's worth a try as long as my cpu doesn't die. :)

Hmm...on Spacewalker's website. They have a link to download a new bios upgrade, and that one allows you to have cpus over the 450mhz limit. I believe with that BIOS update, I can buy a new cpu up to Pentium 3 600E.
