Overclocking my system

My system is:
AMD Athlon64 X2 3800+
Giga-byte K8N Ultra SLI
1GB DDR500 Powmax RAM

Now the thing is that with the identicle system, using an old BIOS and an Athlon64 3000+, I overclocked it to the 250HTT without a problem. Now I had to upgrade the board to a newer bios to support the Athlon64 X2 processors, but no matter what my clock speed of my chip is, sometimes when booting it doesn't detect the hard drives. This never happened before, and I never changed the hard drives or anything. If I change the FSB back down to stock, it never does that either. It makes me think it is dealing with the new bios, but I was just wondering what people thing.
