So I started overclocking my Pentium D 820. So far I have gotten up to 3.64ghz stable.

My temps are usually around 24 idle and 35 load (depending on the temperature in my room)

Is this considered a good overclock? Anyone been able to push their 820 higher?

Also, whats the highest I should go on the chip's voltage?

Thanks!

Yea I have watercooling. I really want to try to squeeze everything I can out of this chip before I go core 2. Problem is, I don't want to go to high as I am not very familiar with the 820.

Even with water cooling my 820 was running at over 60c..are you sure your temp sensor is working?! Pentium-D's are very hot running chips. None the less, if thats accurate..keep pushing it, I wouldn't go over 1.5v though. At 4ghz you might be able to beat a stock E6600 in performance.

Yea I am pretty sure my temp sensor is working. The tubes and rad barely feel hot. A little warm is all.

Ill try to push it some more soon. Ill post here if I make any more progress ;)

That amazes me.....the one 820 system i built a while ago with the intel stock fan was smokin hot. I couldn't believe how hot that thing ran, in the 60's Celcuis while idle and almost 70 degrees under load.

I brought it down to 3.57 for stability.

No problems at this speed :)

Glad I got what seems to be a damn good chip!

That is quite a good OC for an 820 on air. My 805 runs at 3.6ghz, my 920 only gets to about 3.4ghz.

Mine isn't on air. Mine is on water. But I am still happy with is as of now. I have a C2D bug, but no cash to use to get one :'(

However, anyone looking to give away a C2D cheap, let me know haha!
