Hi everyone,
This is my first Post here. Me and my bro built a small custom rig a year ago. its got a SOYO Dragon II Plus MOBO, a P4 2.8C with an FSB of 800Mhz. 512MB of PC3200 memory. I know its alot to ask but does anyone know some good settings to put this thing on. The processor already runs at 45 degress Celsius. I dont want anything crazy. Just see if i can find more improvements. I need to know a good FSB setting and memory timing. This MOBO already has the ability to lock both the PCI and AGP clocks. The processor so far runs at 1.45V for the Vcore and the MOBO supports only up to 1.6V If anyone could help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Your overclock will be limited by your mobo rather than your CPU. Still, let's see what you can do!

I suppose it might be worth metioning that there are 3 different "enhancing" settings on the MOBO. there is normal (what wer're running), Fast (seems unstable) and Turbo (wouldn't start) That's why i started this topic. To see if anyone could give me some numbers that they might have been able to achieve. i can't see what the numbers are that SOYO is setting itself to when I set it at Fast or Turbo because it never lets me into the BIOS before it shuts down (on Turbo it will just start and then keep making a beeping noise through the computer speaker). i'm guessing that the generic overclock settings in the motherboard just aren't compatible with a 2.8C.

I use clockgen to get my Northwood 2.8Ghz at work to a stable 3.3Ghz with DDR-3200 and Intel Mobo. I wish it was as quick as my 2800+@2.3Ghz at home :(. But multi tasking is nicer on the p4 but i am planning on upgradeing home with an X2 by end of summer and underclocking my 2800 for a quiet and cool HTPC :).

Is that with stock air cooling? cause all we have is an ULTRA 2.8Ghz rated cooler and a single 80mm fan to cool the case. That why I dont understand how this Dell can keep running lol. All it had is a 5in. tall processor heatsink and a 120mm fan to coall the case, processor and everything else lol. Doesn't seem safe. Too bad too. The 845GV chipset standardly locks the AGP and PCI buses so you dont have to worry about them. Too bad Dell MOBOS don't support overclocking. :*(
