Um.. I don't think there's anything to overclock laptop except to physically open the cover.

I doubt it's possible, even if it was, it wouldn't be recommended as you can't improve cooling which is pretty minimal to begin with.

I think there's a program that'll let you change the FSB while in Windows, but I wouldn't try it with a laptop. These things run hot enough as it is, and you'd probably not get a good enough OC to warrant the trouble...

Yes, as others have said, even if it is possible to overclock your laptop, it is highly not recommended since cooling is a major issue and I'm sure you don't want to risk of frying your entire laptop over a few mhz rating jumps. The environment is much different than that of desktops.

I wouldn't overclock it even if you do figure out a way to unless you plan on only turning it on while you are sitting in the deep freeze.:D

laptop p3 600s run at a reduced voltage anyway, like 1.5 volts, versus 1.7 for the other laptop p3s, so i don't think you'd have enough voltage overhead to make a "worth it" overclock, unless you could change the voltage.

Even if you can't overclock it, far as I understand it, the processor is removable. For $266 you can get a mobile p3 - 800.
Dunno if you'll get much for your mobile 600 though.
Adding more memory and possibly a 5400 rpm hard drive might give you more of a performance increase.
