I just built the following:
Core 2 Duo E6300 1.8Ghz
Asus P5B Motherboard
2 x 1 GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), with 5-5-5-12 timings and 5 CAS Latency.
I have never done over clocking. I'm wondering how I should set the following bios settings? I realize I should start low and slowly increase as long as I maintain stable temps, but I'm not sure specifically WHAT settings to increase. Here's what I see in the BIOS:
1. CPU External Frequency. This ranges from 100 to 400. Where should I set it?
2. Memory Voltage. Has 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, and 2.1.
3. CPU VCore Voltage. Currently set to auto.
4. FSB Termination Voltage. 1.2, 1.3
I believe these are all the settings related to Overclocking. Currently everything is set to the default.
I think a good start is to try 2.4 Ghz and see what my temps are. Then perhaps 2.8 Ghz, then 3.0 Ghz.
My question specifically, is what to set the above settings in order to achieve the higher speeds. Thanks!
