How far can I overclock my Sapphire Radeon 9800 PRO 256-bit 128MB card but still not detract from it's long term lifespan? This is with the stock Sapphire heatsink/fan.

I tryed the ati tool a while back, over clocked my card to 600mhz (9600XT) which it said was alright, as soon as i turned on 3d mark tho it got mad artifacts, haven't trusted it since

^ That's what I have been hearing from some people lately. I tried it on 4 ATi cards with no problems (left it running for hours though, as you'll find it lowers clock speeds automatically as time goes on and heat takes its toll on the cooling)

Peace

Ok, so I am currenly at 398/348. How much higher can I go, safely?

Every card is different. Keep pushing it until you get artifacts. Then back it down and find a stable point.

Could some people that have overclocked their 9800 PRO with stock cooling please post their frequencies?

My 9800 Pro is not overclocked and it has a VGA silencer and 13 extra heatsinks I put on the ram andother chips. It runs cool. I can overclock it and get a nice 3dmark03 score. Games however run no faster when overclocked so there is no point in doing it.
Frequency I get easily is 412 mhz core and 365 mhz ram.

Had mine at 400/348 stock. Added cooling/heatsinks and I'm stable at 400/351. :)

I use Radlinker (RadClocker). Tried ATI Tool...didn't like it much.
