I have a 600E SL3NL running at rock solid at 800 with 1.65 volts. My stepping is cA2, so is this good or bad for my probability of getting much higher than 800? I'd like to get a new mobo if I have a chance of getting close to 900Mhz. Thanks all!

I have a retail 600e, ca2 stepping, with msi-6309 mobo.

It's gameplay-stable at 866MHz at 1.65v and windows-stable at 900MHz at 1.7v.

There's really no way to predict how fast a particular cpu will stably operate. It's pretty much luck of the draw.

I would recommend the asus p3v4x because it seems to be simply a better-engineered mobo - and there a lot of users on this forum who can help you with problems.

I'm pleased with the msi-6309 for stability and easy overclocking, but I had to do a lot of tweaking to get decent memory bandwidth numbers.

What do you mean by you "had to do a lot of tweaking to get decent memory bandwidth numbers"? What did you have to tweak? I was looking at the Abit BE6-IIs for a mobo, how do you think these compare to the Asus ones?

I'm in the same boat as Kaytor. It's either P3V4X for BE6-2. I'm planning to bring my 600e close to 900. Suggestions on board?
