I would like to OC my 1900Xt for the sake of a good 3dmark score, is there any easy way to do it, I would prefer a "detect optimal speed" type thing like the NVidia cards have, thanks

Just use Rivatuner. Increase the core about 5-10MHz and then test in 3DMark. Once you start getting 'snow' or artifacts back down a bit. Then record your max and do the same to the memory. Then put both to their max and do some stability testing.

I use ATI Tool 0.25 beta 14. Allows you to change the voltages, overclock, then scan for artifacts. Pretty nice once you figure out how to use it (I had trouble with this lol)

I am using atitool and it started at the 2d clocks, shouldnt it start at the 3d clocks? right now I got it to 556 and 688, I have been just scanning for artifacts for a few minutes but I am wondering about the 2d and 3d clocks, man I am confused.

ATI Tool cannot work with 2D/3D clocks natively yet. What you have to do to use it is disable the ATI poller services * these are what the ATI driver uses to change between 2D and 3D clocks* and OC in 2d mode. After that, open ATI tool and ramp up your "2d" voltages and clocks to appropriate levels for 3D * check here for examples*

Once you have your highest possible/desired OC, you can even set up different profiles, save your "OC" as one, then save the default 2d as another. Further, you can tell ATI tool to load the "2d" profile at startup, then load "OC" whenever you start a 3d game.

Missing Nvidia coolbits yet ? ;)

I am going to suggust something that isnt too popular here.. Load 6.3 cats and Cat Control Center ( CCC ), select "Advanced" view and go into the Overdrive tab. Do your O/C ing here, chances are you will be able to hit the wall before you reach the maximum OC from the overdrive panel. At least that was the case for me on stock cooling, I didnt need ATI tool till I went to water, but YMMV.

If you can max out there then look to the other solutions, or just call it good enough.

ahhh man, I installed the visual studio .net the other night and my 3d marks are down a bit more than 400 point, even after I uninstalled it the score is still around 9400 not the 9700 I was getting, any ideas?

I will check out the examples that you posted Yreka, thanks for the tips.
