I've tried to mildly OC it, but ended up with completely downed system. It gave me moderate improvement in the 3DMark score and made it through the whole test, but at the end most of my OpenGL applications (including screensaver started to behave vierd... I haven't spent too much time on it, though.

really? i OCed my leadtek gf2mx a bunch (see sig) and its 100% smoooooooth.....
you gotta download the nvidia coolbits utility, which adds a "hardware maintenance i.e. overclocking" tab to your card settings.........
i think you can download it somewhere at tweakfiles ;)

is there a notable difference in overclocking? i have an msi geforce2 mx...i use the coolbits, but i'm not sure what to get it to. my 3dmark score stays relatively the same before and after OCing it.
i'm thinking it's my processor. oh wells.

There is certain benefits. Somewhere out there there is an article on that. The idea is, that you'll get up to 20% improvement of the performanceif you OC both GPU and memory. OC GPU alone doesn't give you almost any improvement.
Speaking of my experience going from defaults to 190/185, I've got a score of 4260 (from 4104). Haven't pushed any further, as I know, that at 200/205 (many get that far) my system failed to complete the test and I see too much of the junk on the screen.
Another point is that I'm not sure how OC influence the TV-out. My guess is - no good, as I suspect that was the cause of my initial crash.
