I just came across a "sponsored link" at Amazon.com, it lead to a web site selling an e-book on overclocking, for $20 or so.

how to overclock your cpu dot com

Just thought that someone might be amused (or disgusted) with this site.

Even more interesting, they reproduced a graph from an Anandtech article, probably without permission. I wonder if that is legally actionable. Anand should sue and get a piece of this guys pie.

Edit: Please do not directly link to this site. I would hate to imagine Anandtech's pagerank promoting this crap.

Edit: for future reference, the google search that I did, that ended up at amazon.com with the sponsored link, was "G31AX-K overclocking"

I read through it, skimmed most of it, and my feelings were kinda mixed. Ya, he ripped off Anandtech, but teaching people to overclock in simple terms doesn't seem so bad (Maybe I could point my friends to this and I'd have more free time). Then however, when trying to leave the page I got an annoying pop-up that wasn't stopped by google chrome, asking me if I really wanted to leave, begging me not to. That was when I went from ambivalence to rage. I bet this guy is more of a snake oil salesman than a well meaning businessman.

I think it's a mute point as most of us here know how to overclock and don't need a Overclocking for Dummies book.:)

I'm sure VirtualLarry wasn't posting this for our sake :) I think the point was that the author is stealing from this website to make his book, and not paying royalties!

I saw the same web site, but it meets a need. 99% of folks can't overclock. A lot of guys try it without bothering to do the research and end up frustrated, or worse, FRIED. But, I hate the hard OVER SELL of that kind of stuff. Bodybuilders web sites are full of that crap. :(
