I'm looking to overclock my current system:

ASUS A7N266-E
Athlon XP 1800+ (i dont think its a palamino.. how do i check?)
512MB PC2100 DDR (generic)
128MB Radeon 9500 pro
60GB Western digital 7200rpm HD
onboard sound (nforce1)
onboard lan

What do i need to put my settings at to keep my system stable? heres my fan setup:

1 - powersupply
2 - rear fans
1 - side panel fan
1 - front mounted fan
stock heat sink and fan on CPU

any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm upgrading in a few months, so i want to get some more out of my current system. thanks.

You can use CPU-z to determine what 1800+ you've got (Palomino or Tbred). What's going to be holding you back is the motherboard and PC2100 RAM, as both are not meant to run anything over a FSB of 133 (133 x 2 = 266).

Just try increasing the FSB in the BIOS and see how it goes. You'll probably need to bump the CPU voltage 0.05 or 0.1v to help improve stability. Be sure you know how to reset the BIOS (look in the manual) before you start making changes to the system.

Welcome to the forums and good luck! :)
