Is it bad for the card if you only Overclock it just for a few hours(Gaming)?
I have a GTS 32mb, whats a good clock speed?

thanks

No, as long as you dont clock it too high. You'll know if you do because the image will contain artifacts, look like it's snowing or just plain crash...

I ran my previous GTS for over a year overclocked. I kept it around 210 Core/384 memory for daily use(gaming etc.). It's upper limit was around 245/398. Pretty good OCer for a 32MB GTS. I didn't like the core up that high though because it just had stock cooling.

So in fewer words, yes it's perfectly fine to OC your card. As long as it is stable at the higher speed, it is virtually the same as running it at the stock speed(in regards to it dying due to use).

You should be more than fine overclocking your card. I am still running a Geforce 256 in my machine. It has been running 150/180(stock is 120/166) for the past one and a half years. I have had no problems. I imagine I am shortening the lifespan of my card. However, I dont plan on keeping it for the next ten years.

just make sure you run artifact tester to make sure your not getting artifacts, also do a test after youve played for a few hours and its hot ^_-

ARG...my GF2 Pro only gets to 225 with a good memory OC...the upper limit on clock speed is like ~230...ARG.

How can you people be hitting nearly 250mhz?? Did you switch off stock cooling?

On the other hand...my memory is happy at 470...down to 462 b/c 470 doesnt let you go far on GPU speed...hehe
