overclocking gpu fps with kombuster, fps drop?

Hey guys, just started ocing my msi 560ti 448. I've done some light reading on the subject, and I'm using the msi afterburner/kombuster that came with the cd.

I heard that ocing video cards don't bring much noticeable gaming benefits(correct me if i'm wrong), so I'll probably just see what I can get out of the card on stock voltage.

I got the card to go from 750 - 890 before i get an error message about nvidia display drivers not connecting to something.... Is this a voltage issue?

I also noticed that if I run kombuster (1080P, full screen, xtreme burn-in, no AA, everything else default) at the default 750 clock, I get 52 fps, but when i bump it to 800mhz the fps drops to 42? Should i be concerned about this? I only ran it for 10 mins, everything else seemed fine.

thanks for the reply. What should I be using instead of Kom/Furmark? I've heard of people getting the the same card from 750 to 950/1000mhz core, which I assume makes a a noticeable difference in games.

fwiw, i'll be playing witcher 2 on a 23 inch monitor @ 1920x1080.
