Hello everyone, this is my first post on forums.anandtech.com :)

I just purchased a new AMD64 system and need some help on how to overclock this baby!

My specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester
OCZ 512MB Premier Dual Channel PC-3200 (2,5-3-3-7)
Gigabyte K8NS Ultra-939 nForce3 250 (BIOS F5)
Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu 95mm cooler
Fortron 350W FSP350-60PN PSU
Sapphire Radeon 128MB 9500@9700 AGP
Windows XP SP2

I have tried reading some of the standard OC threads and tips, but since i'm new at this, I
find it hard to adapt BIOS settings of other mainboards. So maybe some owners of the same
Gigabyte K8NS Ultra-939 board, could help me with the BIOS settings. I find the memory part
of OC litte confusing: 2,5-3-3-7 timing etc. What can I hope to get out of my RAM and CPU?
I know about the CTRL+F1 to enter advanced BIOS. I tried OC by changing the CPU clock to
250 mhz, but then I had to clear CMOS to be able to boot. Pressing DEL not responded. Is there
an easier way to rollback BIOS if OC freezes up my system?

Please give some pointers on how to proceed... I have included some BIOS screenshots for help.

Thanx!

Here's a good place to start (note - this rec coming from a non-hardcore OCer, I like silence more than speed), but I'm afraid this is more a skill to be learned than knowedge to be passed on -- you can't learn how to be an auto mechanic just by litening to people tell you what they do to fix specific problems, there are very few magic bullets.
