overclocking Geforce6600

Hey again. After a SECOND RMA to BFG, i finally have a card that works. It is a BFG Geforce 6600GT (512MB) PCIe with Infineon GDDR2 SDRAM. The core clock comes set at 450mhz, (stock 425) and i so far have pushed it to 500Mhz with Temperatures of 47C or less under load. the RAM modules dont have any heatsyncs on them, and they can get quite warm. stock, the Infineon modules are clocked at DDR 266mhz, (533mhz effective) @ 128bit width. i have pushed them to DDR 305Mhz (610Mhz Effective) and i want to push them further. but im worried about the VRAM. they can get very hot to the touch after hours of Oblivion. I have a Gateway 832GM, with 2GB Dualchannel PC2700, Intel P4 630 @ 3.0ghz, i915G chipset, BTX motherboard, HiPro 305Watt PSU. I dont have much money, and would like to avoid buying RAMsinks until i get my first job in January. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated thanks. What do you hope to gain by further overclocking the RAM ?
I haven't seen where overclocking video card RAM provides any meaningful performance gain..

because in this case, the limiting factor is the VRAM. most 6600GT models have 256bit RAM, this one only has 128. every time i increase the VRAM clock, i get a increase in performance. from 266 to 305, i have seen a increase in oblivion from 20fps average to 30FPS average.
