Overclocking geforce card, help a newbie

Got nvhardpage and have a few questions:

*How much much should i overclock core and memory at a time?

*Can i destroy other cpu parts besides the vid card when overclocking the vid card? (this question is important to me since i'm gonna buy 9700pro next month anyway, but the other parts of the system are almost as precious as....something really precious 🙂)

*Any experience of how much one usually can overclock a geforce 4 mx 440SE (250/333)?

*how should i test each overclock setting? 3dmark2001 default run of 6 minutes, or must i loop it? Or maybe play a 3d game for x min?

If it matters here are my other system specs:

2.8Ghz@3Ghz 800Mhz fsb
msi neo2-fis2r 865pe
corsair twinx1024-3200LL

As all can see my current vid card is an obvious system performance breaker

1. inch it higher till you reach the limits where it is still stable
2.i guess its possible
3. dunno

btw grab the hidden feature coolbit over at the guru, its great

Overclocking the video card is pretty safe. I pushed my GF4 Ti to 500/800 once and it obviously locked instantly, but I restarted and all was well. As far as making sure it is stable, I normaly play a game for an hour or so.
