**overclocking geforce 4 ti madness - WHY IS IT SKIPPING!?!?!***

With all three geforce 4 ti cards I have owned (abit 4200 64mb, albatron ti4600 128mb, visiontek 4400 128mb) I have had the same problem...

When I overclock too much, then card never freezes, it just skips horribly....frame rates will be at like 100fps, then the whole scene will just freeze for about 3 seconds, then continue.

To give you an idea, I am running a VT ti4400 at 275/624. Any higher than those settings (combined, or just single core/memory), games start to studder. Though, it can run stable at 300/650, it skips.

Any ideas what this is due to?

probably from overheating, or just an error in the ram....just don't overclock that high, hehe :)

Running hardware out of spec often has unexpected results. That's the nature of the game.

heat != capacitance issues, which is what you would run into with the ram
