overclocking for seti?

I have a few comments and a question 😀
Tbird 1.2 @1.4
Athlon 600 @ 646 just started o/c this one today
P2 400 @400
The P2 background: The P2 400 Celery is on a Abit LX6 board and slotket adaptor.

The question is: Does anyone know how to overclock the FSB on this board?

SoftFSB doesn't see this board (the slotket is adjustable but lost the table 🙁 ) I'm pretty sure there is a way to so it by way of the FSB. The board supports 66,75,83 and 100 fsb but I dont see were in bios (softmenu) to set it.

Trying to get that extra WU pumped out 🙂

The best way is through the slocket. Do you know the manufacturer and model no? Maybe we can find the instructions somewhere on the web?

Ok 1stly its a Celeron not a P2 ,that means its on a 66MHz FSB

The Abit LX6 uses the LX chipset which officially only supports 66MHz ,but of course many boards had options of running at 75 & 83 MHz 🙂
I just tried finding some info about your mainboard on Abits site but found no trace of it! 🙁😕 ,great!:disgust:

Anyway from what I remember you should be able to select the FSB in the bios ,hit delete on start up.I'm afraid I can't remember which menu its under but it shouldn't be too hard to find🙂.Disable speed error hold btw.
I'd be surprised if 100MHz was an option ,even if it is don't try it as the PCI bus speed would be far too high for your HDD's to handle. Also its very unlikely your Celeron would be capable of running at 600 MHz
Even at 83 MHz FSB there is a chance the HDD's couldn't handle the high (41.5MHz) PCI bus & could corrupt its data.I would recommend imaging your HDD before trying 83MHz to be safe.75MHz should be no problem🙂

Keep us posted
