I recently built a system using
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe
Antec Sonata
1 gig Corsair 3200 value select
(and some other crap...)
It works fine most of the time. A couple times, typically after I detached the monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. to work on a different computer, I reattacedh everything and gota boot problem. No video... I fiddle with connections, turn it on and off.... finally I get a boot after an extremely long wait, and I get a bios messages to the effect that 'Overclocking Failed". I press F2 to restore defualt configs, and the system boots fine.
I have not tried to overclock anything or mess with bios settings, so the "overclocking" message seems strange. Perhaps it just means the thing overheated, and it assumed that I overclocked?
I realize I'm not providing very detailed info, and I will collect better data if it happens again. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas, for now, about what might be happening. FWIW, I believe at least one of the times the screwup happened, I accidentally plugged the mouse into the keyboard port and vice versa. I remedied the problem but am not sure whether it had anything to do with the computer eventually booting.
TIA!
