Overclocking eVGA 650i and DVD drive problems

Has anyone had problems having their eVGA 650i motherboard hang on bootup when recognizing the DVD drive during overclocking?

This is an intermittent problem with me. I'm running a E4300, eVGA 650i, 2GB RAM, and a serial LiteOn DVD drive, OC to 3GHz. It always recognizes my WD 250GB serial HD.

I have the DVD drive disconnected, and the system boots and works without a hitch. Any recommendations or thoughts?

Thanks.

Those were good thoughts, but it still hangs when looking for the devices on bootup. Liteon doesn't offer any new firmware updates for this drive (it's the latest). Any other ideas, or has anyone else run into this problem? It works fine without OC, but OC causes problems.

Do you have the PCI-E bus locked @ 100 Mhz? And while you're at it, make sure the PCI bus is locked @ 33 Mhz.

Check RAMs and CPU stability. Those boards should lock PCI/PCI-E at default settings. Clear CMOS and flash to the latest BIOS.
