It's really strange being in this forum and watching someone talk about you like you're not here.
Hey, you
weren't here when I typed that.

So, does your motherboard have an FSB adjustment and RAM speed adjustment in the BIOS? If not, you won't be able to overclock through your BIOS, like we do. Your only choice will be to learn how to use RMClock, and overclock once you reach Windows, or buy a faster CPU. Unfortunately, OEM's (Dell, Gateway and HP are OEM's) don't publish CPU support lists for their motherboards. They don't want anyone to know that it's possible to upgrade their processors; they want you to buy a whole new system from them.
That means you'd be on your own to buy a faster processor, and just hope that it works in your motherboard. The fastest processor that may very well work in your board is most likely the E6850. The E6x50's weren't much different from the E6x00's, they just run @ a higher FSB, so it should work. You can still buy E6850's, but they're $200 a pop. You also could try replacing your motherboard with one that will allow you to overclock, but honestly, that's about 10x as hard as overclocking, and then you'd still have to learn how to overclock.
Let us know what you decide on doing, and we'll do our best to help you. Oh, and I looked up the specs for your system, and it said that it came with about 12 different video cards. What video card does your computer have in it? Video cards are about 10x as important for
most games as CPU's are. Other games require alot of CPU horsepower, and not alot of video card. But you still haven't told us what games you play, so we're as in the dark about some of this as you are.
* BTW, FSB= Front Side Bus
