What I currently have is in my signature. I am about to build a computer for a friend. I could use the cpu that I have now and get one of the new t-birds. If I got a t-bird at 1 gig would I be able to tell the difference? I heard someone say 3-7 % percent fast than the duron, but heck if that is only it, it may not be worth the price. thanks

Jeez glpracer... seems like you build another system every week.

Anyway, you have to ask yourself whether you would notice a small difference in speed. The Duron 900 is fast enough for most everything, but if you are doing some hard core processing, you may notice an improvement with the TBird. If you get the TBird 1G and OC it to 1.2G as I know you would, there should be an at least 15-20% increase in speed.

The question is whether you would notice this increase and whether this justifies the cost.

If you feel like beinf philantropic, buy me the TBird 1G. I only have a Duron 600. :)

hehe Thanks for the post. As for building so many systems..... I did one for a lady I work with and then someone else. Now someone else I work with wants one. I just tell them what to buy and charge $75 to put it together. It is fun and it gives me some spending money for more components without the wife complaining.
