i have a celeron 466. currently its o/c @525 at default voltage which is 2.1v.....my question is how could i get it to overclock higher? the celeron's clock is locked at 7.0 and right now i have the fsb at 76 which is one of my mobo's only 3 settings....(66/76/83)
i have good cooling in my opinion....with my current config. the temp is around 26C when idle. i dont know much about the voltage's effect on o/c'ing but when i dont do anything to it, and set my mobo to 83fsb, i get an error during bootup that says my ntoskrnl.exe is missing. whats that all about? it isnt missing....

anyway, any help would be appreciated.

That's pretty much the limit for the 466. They don't overclock that high.

I have a Celeron 466 in one of my systems as well. The highest I could get it to was 525mhz.
Its currently running at 466mhz. Parents use it for word processing, internet, etc...

I would try raising your voltage. My cel 466 ran at 581. I've gone higher but the pci bus was low above 83 mhz.

i think your cpu should be able to do 7*83 mhz. my C400 did 6*95 mhz okay. up your voltage slightly. getting a new mobo would, of course, be the best option! :)

Look on your mobo and see if there is a Async jumper. This jumper allows the FSB to run at 83MHz without overclocking the PCI bus.
