Hey,

I'm going to overclock, im all pimped out. except for the kt7a since it was too expensive.

rig:
kt7-raid (blue orb of southbridge)
256 mushkin rev3.0 <- a lotta money
FOP32-1 <- cools well.

now, i dont want to spend over 125. but which processor overclocks more? considering performance. is the duron really that more crappy to the tbird? or are they all the same once above 1 ghz.

such as..

is 1 ghz duron worth the performance to the 1 ghz tbird. is the performance negilible? i just want probably a duron 700 or tbird 700 and go to 1000 easily. thanks all.

duron or tbird? the performance difference?

they are not the same at any speeds that are the same tbird vs duron I would go with a Dresdin tbird 750 if I were you. I have built 15 750 tbird systems on abit kt7 boards with good ram and they all did a gig and 7 of them did 1100mhz. Hopes this info helps.

The performance difference is about 10% at the same clock speed. I would go with a T-Bird anyways, it's not that much more money and it's a faster chip.

Oh, and is the Blue Orb really on your south bridge? It would be better off on your north bridge :)

The Duron is more or less 100Mhz less compared to a Thunderbird. With it's lesser L2 cache, it needs a few more Mhz to compensate.

What he means (I think) is why did you buy the BEST memory out there for an AMD system, when the memory clock doesnt go as high as that memory will go, which isnt the case with an Intel system, which will push the memory

i just learned recently that the kt133 wont go very far in fsb..

but with hcl+pci that gets you to 148mhz mem, a bit more that what rev2 might do at 2-2-2?

Hi,

I went to that site but it's listed for $69.00. I thought you said it was $50 shipped?

Thanks
