I've seen lots of people with systems that have 1.4 or 1.33 athlons overclocked to 1.6ghz. I've just recently started shopping for a new computer, and I never knew you could overclock athlons like that. How successful are they at being overclocked? Is there a large chance of damaging the Athlon if I try it? Any considerations/equipment I should get before I attempt such a feat? I wanna be l33t and say I have a 1.6ghz! :)

Overclocking is a crap shoot. Some cpu's are more overclockable Than others. But you really can't tell till you try.
One main consideration is cooling,if you plan on o/cing buy extra good cooling devices.

If your new to overclocking, don't get your hopes too high. All your system components have to be top notch, and you have to get lucky when buying a CPU because you never really know what you'll get unless you buy one pre-tested.
You can usually get a resonable performance increase with most CPU's, your case/CPU cooling has to be very good. Most pre-built systems don't support overclocking, so you'll have to keep that in mind as well.
