Heya, looking at getting an Athlon x2 3600. This is going to be a pure bang for buck system, so I am going with the 3600. But, question: how high can I go.
Could you guys post what speed you got(stable speeds only, please) along with mobo and RAM that were used. If you could also list what stress test you used and for how long.

Thanks in advance,
-Murphy

P.S. cooling fan and case would also be helpful.
P.P.S. Could you post any benchmark scores with that, even if you have one of the Windsor cores?

thats a pretty good OC for an AMD. Anyone know if the AM2 65 nm Optys are OCing like they 90nms did or maybe even higher?

As far as I know, the revision F Opterons(Santa Anna?) are 90nm. I wish there were 65nm opti's, that would be overclocking's holy grail...assuming that the 1mb per core 65nm yields weren't the limmiting factor in the Rev F=90nm decision...

instead of bumping this d@mn thread, why not put it in the correct place
I am sorry, but I posted it in the wrong forum. If an admin sees fit to move it, then it will be moved. Meanwhile, there isn't much I can do.

Difference between an e4300 and a 3600: cheaper RAM, cheaper OCable board, green logo(a plus for me, an AMD fanboy)...and a "much better quality CPU"(that unqualifiable factor that justifies AMD fanboys regardless of outstanding benchmarks in Intel's favor ;j). Not to mention that the 3600 is cheaper too(nearly half the cost, as of the 9th). The result is a Much cheaper budget PC(or more money to throw at the case/PSU/aftermarket HS-F/Graphics card).

P.S. Please, no one flame me; Kay? I love AMD, I promise!
