overclocking athlon (k7) 700

Hi, i have this old computer as a spare. So i'm experimenting with overclocking. I could only get it to run normally at fsb of 109 (109*7), but when i hit 110, windows would load and imediately freeze. I tried raising the voltage, but no luck. I am waiting for a GFD to arrive to change the multiplier. I downloaded the latest detonators and latest 4in1 via drivers as well.

Will it be easier to just keep it at 100 fsb and just raise the multiplier? or just keep trying to raise the fsb? or both?

any ideas on how to solve this freezing problem?

it shouldn't be ur ram b/c its spec'd to run @ 133 and ur running it @ 110. 300 W is enough for what u have...the culprit probably is heat. (especially b/c u raised voltage). original Tbreds/athys ran extrememly hot { for example my 1.2 ghz tbred runs @55-60C normally} so any OC is very tricky. i would see if i can get my hands on some ASCIII (artic silver 3) and a nicer fan. nothing too expensive b/c as u said, its just for experimentation! 🙂

thanks guys

i have some as3 sitting around, i'll try that. In the BIOS, temp reads 35 celcius. I didn't think heat was a big factor.

The GFD should be here by the end of the week, so i'll try that. Thanks again
