The mistake is expecting a motherboard that was NOT designed to be an overclocker board to overclock well. Regardless of what you see other people getting (and even the AT article), know that this board is limited in voltage and BIOS options, thus limiting your overclock. The limitations can be overcome, but that takes work and research. For the easy overclock you should get a known good overclocker board using whatever NF4 chipset in your price range.

hello well I know this mobo is´nt the best for overclocking but I have a new agp 6800 GT and I want the most out of this.
I have tested all bios avaliable but noone seems to be good, and I dont mean overclocking. I have problems to get the mobo to find my harddrives if I put one on sataII connection it would not find any ide drives and revers. And I have a hard time to get this mobo to accept that I want to use win2000 for my workstation. I want win2000 on sataII drives but when I shall installing it says Setup did not find any harddrives installed???? I have make disk and I try everything but it not seems to work. SataII drives even set to ide in bios. Winxp works fine but that isn´t enough
It seem that setting raid in bios disable everything else. Its the most curius bios I ever have seen and I have been working with computers nearly 15 years now. But I am maybe is getting tired of stuff that shouldnt been shipped! :)
I manage to find a harddrive SataII (I have taken out all cables ide and sata and put SataII driving to Strong, Otherwise mobo dont find anything ) when installing win2000 but I ended up in a black screen and a blinking cursor.
Can som friendly souls save my head from burning up.

Not to sound like a total geek....but...

If I am not mistaken the ASRock is ASUS`s entry level boards and they really were not made for overclocking!!:)

You might want to check out the review on AndanTech on this board. It overclocked quite well in their tests, and beat out the Abit A8N Fatal1ty.

Yeaa now its running as I wanted acording to Sisoft 2005.7.10.60 my computer now is faster than 4800+ and I am satisfied but I cant get some good memorybanwidth just get around 3000 MB/s and that is bad. I had an Epox 9NDA3+ and cpu 3500+ ond that gave me 7100 MB/s.
Well Asrock 939Dual give me now 2,51 GHz cpu core 1.350v temp 37.5 C fronsid buss
2*1250 Dram Twister 2*512 Mb pc 3700 timing 2,5-3-3-9.
And the most important Bios v 32-120-0000010-00101111-090505- Ali939M2121-Y2KC. Thats the only bios that you can setup an os into SataII disk. Maybe i can put it a little further but now is working fine. I put vga driver XTreme-G78(1=.05-HD.exe on my Msi 6800 GT and get 12890 in 3dmark 03 well I admit that I twaek my 6800gt a little bit using manual overclocking and let the card suggest opti,al oveclock to core clock 421 and memory clock to 1.14 GHz
Its looks that I got right afterall it is possebly to put this motheboard a little bit further than default isn it :) No special cooling at all, look at my spec in top.
