i have my duron 700@1000mhz using the FOP 38 HSF, all is well in windows and games. When i try to shutdown the pc "sometimes" not all the time, i get windows protection errors. I have the cpu voltage to the max, sorry i forgot the exact figures.

under full load the cpu temperature is 23C/80F

any suggestions?

btw, that FOP38 is very loud, sounds like a hair dryer LOL

******sorry forgot to say im using WinME******

Yeah...nVidia GeForce card right? Get their beta 6.47 drivers, they work the best and no more protection errors. This is a known issue by them. You can get the new drivers from www.3dchipset.net (this is about the protection error)

yup im using a Geforce2 MX with the 6.31 and directx 8

so i should grab the 6.47's?

cool thanks for the info!
