Overclocking and Dell...

I recently picked up a cheap Dell Dimension 4600 for use as a secondary machine (link). It's the 2.4b (533 FSB).

Anyway, looking around the bios I've noticed that I can't really do anything useful. Can these guys be overclocked at all?

LOL... The title of this thread has Dell and overclocking in the same sentence!

Sorry. You're out of luck. Dell insures that you get no more mileage out of their hardware than you actually pay for. So that you will be back sooner to buy another fancy computer from them.

yeah, i got a housemate who owns a sony Vaio,
and he can't do anything about his system either..
only advance option he got in the bios is...
Pentium 4
HT "ON" or "OFF"

LOL

The only way to make a Dell go fast is to throw it off the roof of a tall building.
...no offense... 🙂

How tall would the building have to be to get me to say... 3 ghz?

Maybe that belongs in "highly technical" 😛
