Overclocking and CS

In Counter-Strike, I noticed something a bit odd. When I overclock any part of my computer, whether it be the CPU or the video card, I notice large variations in the frame rate. When nothing is overclocked CS's max FPS is 99. This will go down to about 45 in some spots. While I'm playing I don't notice it to much, however, this changes when I overclock. The frame rate fluxuates wildly from 27 to 99. I've tested overclocking just my processor or just my video card. And in both cases this happens.

The overclock is never particularly vigorous. The processor is a 750 Duron and the video card is a Geforce 2 GTS. The Duron is overclocked to 850 with a core voltage of 1.65(I've also tried 1.70) and the video card is at 200 MHz core speed and 353 MHz memory speed.

Maybe I'm just imagining it.....

I think you're imagining it. I have a very similar setup (but with a P3 700@850) and I don't notice any difference vs the non-overclocked version. As long as the game isn't stuttering I don't worry about framerates in CS anyway.

That's just it......when I overclock, cs stutters, horribly from, as I mentioned 27 to 99 fps. What framerates do you get?
