Overclocking an X800 Pro

How safe would it be to OC my X800 Pro to X800 XT speeds? Since 4 pipelines are disabled would it be relatively safe? Or should I just OC a little then benchmark to find the most stable speeds?
 
when I had an x800pro it went to 550mhz/550mhz no problem. Would even go higher.

Those things are clocked CONERVATIVELY at 475mhz/450mhz (or whatever it is).

Did you get an artifacts or stability issues? I would guess not since they have relatively or exactly the same cooler? Would you guys suggest running it through some stress tests first to monitor the temps? And does ATITool automatically detect the artifacts or do you have to look for them yourself?
 
atitool is your friend. The "check for artifacts" feature is very handy. Once you start seeing artifacts (or atitool tells you that there are artifacts), drop the speeds about 10-15mhz, and you'll be completely safe.
 
well i just oc ed my connect 3d x800pro to 550/530
i have the 2ns(rated for 500mhz) ram so i cant really get that much more out of my ram im sure if i had a better cooler i could get more out of it
i like ait tray tool better then ati tool as of now it has more things with it
you install it then you show the 3d rendered thing then you hit find the max gpu or mem
and it will go up 2mhz at a time test for artifacts then you can stop just before it starts the artifacts you can find the max speeds of every thing
depending on the cooler, room temp, and the type of ram
is how far you can overclock
 
How about the 4 disabled pipes on the X800 Pro (in PCI-E)...are they "unlockable" (I repeat in PCI-E🙂?
