I just bought the following:

Asus P5N-E
Intel E7400
Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 2GB kit (1gb x 2)
Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7

I would like to try overclocking the CPU a little (say to 3Ghz or 3.2Ghz...not sure how much risk is involved with 3.2 Ghz).

1) First, Is that Arctic Cooling Freezing Pro 7 good for the job?
2) I guess I need Arctic Silver? I think my Microcenter has Arctic Silver or Arctic Silver 5. Is there a big difference? Should I get one over the other? Are these the right instructions to follow?

Any tips on using or applying arctic silver? I haven't done this in a few years.

3) I have never overclocked before. Anyone use this combo before that could provide some settings to try?

4) Should I use this guide and if so, what I should change for the E7400?

For 200mhz you could probably leave everything along, except maybe the memory multiplier, and just up the FSB.

The worst that could happen is that you have to reset your bios.

There is slight risks with any overclock. The risks seem to mostly be motherboard and occasionally RAM-related, though.

Yeah, but only up to around 3.7ish Ghz. It runs out of steam after that.

No, the thermal compound that came pre-applied to your Freezer 7 Pro is vastly superior to Arctic Silver.

you can do like 3,6 or so with this chip but might need a aftermarket cooler, I lke ac7 pro but it's too loud for my ear, if you got room in case get a 120mm one.
