I was thinking about buy and AMD Athlon XP 2200+ and I heard of what is called overclocking. I was wondering is that a difficult process? And is it possible to overclock the processor myself? Also how much work is involved?

work isn't needed much, all u need is a good mobo, a good chip, good ram, good hs/fan couldn't hurt, and lotsa time running tests for stability

What mobo do you have now. And pull off your heatsink and let us know the numbers on the CPU label. The CPU's suggested are some of the best overclockers, but not the only overclockers.

unless your bios dies of corruption like what the older versions of Asus A7N8X can do...
then it shouldn't be too much of a headache.

you wouldn't want to change 5 mobo's in a month like me,
and RMA 4 of them...
