I just built a computer and I was wondering if someone can help me out with overclocking my system?
I have a AMD XP 1600+ AGOIA w/ Abit AX7-333R, the Heatsink is an Alpha PAL 8045 w/ Delta 80X38mm FFB0812SHE. I an new at overclocking and wanted advice from people who know how it's done. Thanks.

Um, not sure what kind of advice you need. Could you be more specific?

But you seem to have good equipment needed for OC. Nice HSF, Nice Chip, and I'm not sure on that particular board, but I know most Abits overclock well. What kind of memory do you have? That could play a large role in this.

I have Corsair CMX 512 MB DDR PC 2700. I want to know how much I can overlock and what settings to I use.

Just set her to 166 with timings to SPD and let 'er rip.
If that doesn't work for you, increase some voltages or something.

And may I say, DAMN that is one loud fan!

Make sure you set the FSB:AGP😛CI ratio to 5:2:1.

Go ahead, set the FSB to 166, let the SPD take care of the ram.

If you find that the computer doesn't start up anymore, either short cmos or press insert a bunch of times while power on.

If you find that it hangs during bootup, give it a small uppage of voltage, .025v increments at a time.

If you find that it crashes in windows under loads or after time, It can be either too much heat or not enough power.
