I just got my 3500 Winchester chip set up with my A8N-Sli Asus board yesterday. I have a Gigabyte 6600GT card and a 430 watt True power supply.

My old OCZ PC3200 2-2-3-6 would hit 225 mhz at cas 3 in my old NF2 asus board.

What are the best OC settings for the new asus board given my memory and processor.

The temps on my card were 50c under full load so from looking at the 6600GT round up I have a bit of headroom there but have never overclocked a gfx card.

The processor seems to hit around 39c at that speed under full load.

Also I can't seem to find the memory divider in the bios.

Any help would be appreciated before i start.

The best OC is to push your CPU as far as it can go, because ram speed doesn't have a big effect on performance with athlon 64's.

The memory divider is probably called something like memory speed, it shows up as 200mhz, 166mhz, 133mhz, etc.

Zebo just posted a good, quick guide on OCing the A64. Use the search function (I think it was called "quick and dirty" something or other).

Basically, you find you max HTT (or FSB) by setting the memory to 100 and the multi t0 6 or 7, then keep cranking that up until you can't get into windows.

Then, you want to find you max CPU speed. Leave the RAM and set the multi to its max (11 on a 3500+), and keep raising the HTT until you start failing Prime95. Back the HTT off a bit.

Max RAM speed: Set the multi to 6 or 7 and the RAm ratio to 200. raise the HTT until you start getting errors in memtest86.

Then set a divider that will utilize you max CPU speed and the highest RAM speed without exceeding your max's. Zebo does a much better job of explaining, so make sure to look for that post.
