I notice that alot of benchmarks or ppl who have oc'd their V5s' always state no performance gain in OgL and D3D, but what about glide did that api receive boost in performance when the card was oc'd did it stay the same?

Anyone who hasn't seen benefits across the board from overclocking a V5 must have a slow processor limiting performance, not the video card. I overclock my V5-5500 to 192MHZ, and I see substantial performance gains in every benchmark and game I have tried. If you are not CPU limited, you'll see great gains. I will say however, that most people will not see 192MHZ with their cards, I got lucky and have a couple of really good cores on mine.

I agree with OcnMan, the best way to make glide faster usually is to have more cpu power, but overclocking the card helps too.

the v5 will run fine on dualys but if your app isnt useing any mulitprocessing then you only have an 866mhz processor wich is a bit lightweight for a v5 but not that bad. overclock it and see:)

There aren't any compatibility problems but i just wondering where the benefits are with overclocking it since so many ppl and editors mention no performance gains in Opengl or D3D.

The API that you select makes no difference in overclocking. If overclocking the card doesn't yield any results it means that you either have a slow CPU or you run games in CPU limited settings.

I think most V5s would be very lucky to hit 192mhz without better cooling. Mine will go 185, but I encounter a few problems after that.
